I suppose you will still exist
Because who you are exists in relation
Neither to whose descendants you will be
Nor even to me if I were to be yours
But to her
Who regardless of anything else
Will raise you up
And find her identity in the raising up
And give you your identity in having been raised up
By her.
This is true whether or not I participate.

I suppose we exist
And who we are exists in relation
Neither to whose descendants we had been
Nor even to ourselves
But to him
Who disregarding everything else
Raised us up
And found his identity in the raising up
And gave us our identity in having been raised up
By him.
This may be true whether or not I participate.

And so if you will continue to be
Whether or not you have another, or me
Then what in all this really matters?
